Since our creation as an Alberta Society twenty-five years ago (December 19, 1997), the Polish Canadian Humanitarian Society has been active in supporting local, national and international charitable causes. We were recognized as a charity by the Canada Revenue Agency in 2004.
Our Mission Statement is “To help victims of war, terror, and natural and man-made disasters with particular emphasis on aid to displaced children, orphans, the elderly and homeless”.
We have assisted orphans and other children in need in Poland, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Haiti, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Uganda, Sudan, and many other locations.
From our organization’s inception, we have also supported the promotion of the Polish language and culture in our local Polish Canadian community in Alberta as well.
More recently, we have directed financial assistance to our local Alberta communities focusing on children in need, orphans, and the homeless.
